A large and rather unusual Regency style daybed / chaise longue in carved solid wood and a brown cotton and linen blend upholstery. Europe, around 1910.
This elegant daybed shows a distinct English Regency style, interpreted through the craftsmanship of the early twentieth century. Its uncommon form - equally suited to a hallway, living room, library or at the foot of a bed - is both architectural and remarkably restrained.
Please note the strangely placed central leg at the backside. Remarkably enough, it is not positioned in the middle as you would expect. A quirky detail.
Comes in a good and very honest condition with wear due to age and use. The upholstery work - which is very nicely done - is recent and comes in excellent condition.
