Early 19th Century Tall French Single Door Armoire or Bonnetière Cabinet in Solid Oak
A remarkable early 19th century bonnetière cabinet in solid oak. France, around 1825.
Very tall single door armoire - a so called bonnetière cabinet - at the time used in hallways and vestibules to store coats and garments. It shows a simple yet distinct design with a paneled door and an elegantly curved corniche on top. Beautiful rustic and almost architectural in scale and presence.
Very honest and original condition with a nice patina. Shows its age gracefully and with a wabi sabi charm, as can be seen in the pictures.
An impressive example of antique French provincial furniture that looks incredible and works very well in a wide array of interior styles.
Comes with a lidded compartment inside and a rod and hooks to hang your coats / garments.
Dimensions: W. 103 x D. 55 x H. 238 cm
