A unique and very distinct late 19th century Flemish raised treasure cabinet in solid carved oak and brass.
Stands directly in the tradition of the earlier Antwerp / Flemish treasure cabinets on stand from the 17th century and the antique Bargueño cabinets from Spain.
Very interesting design raised on tapered carved legs. Shows a very distinct architectural appearance - almost looks like a building. Features 11 drawers and one door, all decorated with intricate hand carvings. Lots of interesting details - like the hand-like handle in brass, the carved flames on the legs, the floral carvings on the drawers and the beautiful large carving on the middle door.
Just a highly rare and exceptional piece of late 19th century Flemish cabinet making.
Comes in a good and highly original condition with some wear due to age and use - a nice patina.
