This is a very imposing and distinct 1940s floor lamp in carved wood with a period shade in parchment. Originates from a French castle and was presumably estate-made.
The central column of the lamp is elaborately carved with a series of deep, spiraling grooves and was presumably made from an estate crafted antique wine-press. It stands tall with a sturdy, square base with beautifully carved decorations. The parchment shade is wonderfully made and of superb quality. The translucent nature of this material makes a very atmospheric and pleasant lighting effect. Please also note the high quality stitching. Overall, this is a very distinct and unique floor lamp - a bold statement piece.
