A lovely oil on panel with two kittens in a basket, by the Dutch painted John Remmers (1874 -1951) who attended the Antwerp art school and lived / worked in various Dutch cities after that.
Very well painted, showing two adorable kittens in a woven basket. Nice tactility and colors. Just look at the beautiful eyes and lovely feet of the cats.
Beautifully gilt and velvet framed by a craftsman in Nice, France. The previous owner had a second home at the Cote d’Azur, hence the remarkable framing location.
Comes in a very good condition with slight wear at the frame, due to age and use.
