SOLD - Poetic Human Group Sculpture in Metal and Plaster After Alberto Giacometti 1970s

€0.00

This is a hauntingly beautiful sculpture made after the work of famous artist Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966).

It is made in metal and plaster and shows a scene with a group of people. It tells a poetic story about the human condition during World War II and the importance of looking after each other. The figure on the right is laying down and obviously is wounded or tired and needs help.

This sculpture is not just a representation of the physical forms but also a poignant reminder of the resilience and solidarity that arise in times of collective hardship. It tells a story of shared humanity, where the act of helping one another becomes a beacon of hope amid darkness. The fragility of the materials used wonderfully depicts the fragility of life itself and the importance of the human connection.

Overall a true piece of sculptural poetry which was made by an unknown Dutch artist somewhere in the 1970s. As can be seen at the underside, it once has been part of an exhibition. It comes in a good condition with a very desirable patina on the plaster and metal - which is partly visible and has gained a rusted patina which combines wonderfully with the colors used on the plaster top layer.

Dimensions: W. 51  x D. 19 x H. 47 cm
