SOLD - South African Cabinetmaker Rocking Lounge Chair in Mohair and Solid Wood 1930s
It is not very often you come across something as special as this rocking chair. A unique piece, made by a skilled South African cabinetmaker. It was obtained from the family who owned it for nearly one hundred years and who moved it from South Africa to The Netherlands a long time ago.
A very elegant design, this chair resembles pieces by Jean Royère and Jindřich Halabala. The curved armrests and sculptural feet make a wonderful combination with the voluminous upholstered seat and backrest which shows a very elegant curvature. The chair is totally restored and reupholstered in a very high end ochre colored mohair fabric.
Dimensions: W. 66 x D. 94 x H. 94 cm (Seat Height 38 cm)
