Wonderful Bauhaus Style Lidded Studio Pottery Bowl 1930s

€925.00

Bauhaus influenced lidded ceramic box. Most probably made in Czechoslovakia, 1930s.

A wonderful bowl, this is. It features a simple yet well proportioned design and beautiful brown and cobalt-blue geometric motifs.

During the 1930s, Czechoslovakia emerged as one of Europe's most progressive centres of design. Influenced by the principles of the Bauhaus and the rise of functionalism, designers sought a new visual language in which ornament was reduced to rhythm, proportion, and colour. This piece shows that spirit, it’s modern and rational, yet warm and inviting.

Comes in a very good condition.

Dimensions: W. 12,5 x D. 12,5 x H. 8,5 cm
